Townhouse vs. Condominium: Key Differences and Which is Right for You?

Townhouses are multi-floor homes with shared walls, often with a small yard, and owners own both the interior and exterior, including the land. Condominiums (condos) are units within a larger building, where owners only own the interior, while common areas (hallways, gyms, pools) are shared. Townhouses usually have lower HOA fees but more maintenance, while condos have higher HOA fees but less upkeep since exterior maintenance is handled by the association.
